When you have an urge to binge, it is helpful to enlist the help of others to support you. When you are not experiencing an urge, I would suggest you set a time and a place to discuss with your loved ones how they can support you best during an urge (see Q11 for more information on how you can do that).
That way, you will all have a list of strategies that are helpful to you when in that time. Remember to plan how you can contact them. Will you text them? Phone them? Tell them in person? Some people find it helpful to have a “quick access” number on their phones of someone supporting them.
It is important to plan this in advance because it is very hard to come up with new strategies in the moment when your level of distress is high.
