In order for CBT to work, participants need to engage with the exercises of the course on a consistent basis until the end of the programme. The amount of time is not as important (although I wouldn’t recommend less than 15 minutes per week).
What is most important is that you have a consistent time and day each week that you devote to your treatment programme. Remember that in face-to-face therapy, the recommendation is an hour per week on the same day and time, plus additional time outside of the therapeutic room where participants put into practice the skills and techniques they learn during therapy.
A digital self-help programme allows us to be more flexible with time than face-to-face therapy, but it is still advisable to have some protected time to engage with the course content. The programme is constructed in such a way to guide you through the content in the recommended pace, but it also allows the flexibility to go slower or faster depending on your preference.
